Date: August 8-17, 2007
Seamus Farrell’s project 3Rs Morocco (reduce, re-use, recycle) is an artist-led workshop in partnership with small companies and vocational schools in Morocco where young people learn to make objects using recycled material such as glass, which form part of our daily lives but can also be used to create art. The work is an experiment from the point of view of the artist, the craftsman and the businessman, transforming daily life as well as the environment. Participants in Martil consisted of local young men from various backgrounds – Moroccans as well as students from other African countries. In cooperation with the artist, it is the intention to establish links with young crafts people in the Netherlands through the works created in Martil.
