Sandrine Wymann


Sandrine Wymann (1971, France) is an independent curator and project manager.

She obtained a double degree in economic sciences and history of art, writing her thesis on the oriental influence on contemporary art. In 1995, she founded and co-directed for seven years the ‘association pour la création d’événements culturels et artistiques’ (aceca) in Strasbourg, creating and producing artistic projects. She organised numerous exhibitions for aceca, including art contemporain [sous] garantie (featuring Bureau d’études, Lilian Bourgeat, and Franck Bragigand) at the Musée d’Art Moderne et Contemporain de Strasbourg, and in Envie du grand Est et d’Allemagne (1999). As artistic director of a series of residencies and cooperations between France and Portugal, and France and Morocco, she organised 1+1+1+1+1, a cross-residency with Joao Pedro Valle, Nuno Alexandre Ferreira and the collective Les pisseuses in 2000/01, and Petites histoires marocaines (Thomas Lang, Natacha Paganelli) in 2002. In 2003, Sandrine joined l’Institut Français de Casablanca, where she was in charge of the visual arts programme. In this function, she organised the project L’œuvre plus que jamais (2005), consisting of an exhibition, a seminar and workshops.
